Curriculum Update February 3-7

Hi Families! Wow! Winter is still definitely here. We have a lot of snow. Due to the weather and days off from school, the third grade international festival has been moved to Wednesday, February 26th. All of the times will still be the same.

February 11- Symphony Field Trip & Valentine's Day Party (3:00)
February 12 & 13 - Student-Led Conferences (Make sure your child attends the conference with you)
February 14 & 17 - No School

ELA/SSThe students will work on their published writing and putting together their international festival presentation. Everything will relate to the driving question, "How does your heritage impact who you are today?"
The students will also begin figurative language this week. They are learning about similes, metaphors, alliteration and onomatopoeia this week. They will relate it back to their heritage.

Math
We will complete fractions this week. The students will still continue having discussions about them so they can think deeper about their meaning.
