Curriculum Update May 14-18

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. To all the Mothers, I hope you had a fantastic Mother's Day. The weather was definitely very nice.

I want to say a special thank you to everyone for all the snacks, cards, and gift cards during teacher appreciation last week. It truly was appreciated and meant a lot. I have been fortunate to have a wonderful group of students this year that I will dearly miss, but know each one of them has bright futures ahead.

Thank you for coming to the science fair. It meant a lot to the students and was a success!

Thursday, third grade will be taking a walking field trip to Monticello Trails Park. We will be doing a nature scavenger hunt and eating lunch. The kids are also welcome to bring any outdoor equipment they would like to play with after our scavenger hunt. Please look for the permission slip to come home in your child's Monday folder today.

Friday is our field day.

Rigby Reading
We will review reading skills used throughout the school year.

enVision Math
We covered most of perimeter and area, but I want to expose the students to the final unit, data this week before they head off to 4th grade. We will be working on reading and interpreting graphs.

Spelling
No spelling for the remainder of the school year.

Science
We are going to build ecosystems with Mrs. Vaughan's class.
Writing
The kids will be finalizing their pen pal letters and writing about what they observed in their ecosystems.

Have a fantastic week!
